JUDY'S
SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
Live from Television City in Hollywood, it's Judy
Garland's 1959 Christmas special! That's the conceit behind this
hilariously deranged holiday musical from writers James Webber and David
Church ('The Showstoppers') and composer Joe Patrick Ward (last season's
hysterical 'Grave White Way'). Judy is staging a comeback and has
invited pals like Bing Crosby, Ethel Merman and Joan Crawford to appear
on her Christmas show. Little things start to go wrong, on and
off-camera, and when Vice President Richard Nixon and longtime lefty
Lillian Hellman show up (singing 'Are You Now or Have You Ever Been In
Love?'), things really get dicey. Ultimately, an unexpected visitor
shows up to send the whole enterprise into an otherworldly place, where
each of the fading stars must face their demons.
