"Judy's Scary Little Christmas" was a different kind of tone.  But I did portray Judy in much the same manner." Keating said she didn't know that she could do Garland until she auditioned for "Judy's Scary Little Christmas", although she had previously aped the singing voice while starring in a 1995 production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. So what's the trick to playing an icon? "She was a human being first. I start with that build out from there," she offered.
